The Hidden Secrets of Watercolour Pencil with Julia Softley
Welcome to the world of watercolour pencils, a forgiving, rewarding, tidy and enjoyable medium that is not as recognised as traditional watercolours. Your teacher, Julia Softley, is here to spread the love for this beautiful medium and its ease as a practise.
This watercolour art class is for all ages and levels of experience. Beginners to experienced creatives are welcome.
Julia will guide you through everything you need to know to get started in this meditative art practice. You will receive ongoing in-class feedback and one-on-one assistance throughout the class so that you'll be able to draw tonally with your style and confidence.
As an educator, she believes each person develops their style, and her joy is bringing out these qualities in each student.
You will be provided with visual references to help you learn Julia's three key techniques using WC pencil.
Some key components of this workshop:
• An appreciation for quality materials and supplies
• An understanding of paper weights and textures
• Selecting and using resources
• Three key techniques Julia uses daily in her practice: glazing, layering and blending to develop tones
