Welcome to Term 4!
Rifah & Lindsay made a great team! But sadly, due to full-time employment calling elsewhere, Rifah has left us. We will miss you, Rifah!
Our committee pulled out all the stops in Term 3 – they worked tirelessly on your behalf to give the Centre a chance to be financially viable. Not only did we have all our usual fun classes, but wait! There was more!
Lindsay’s Retirement Party was on Friday 14th August, with a surprise visit & presentation by the Hon Patrick Gorman.
This was our Curry Night Fundraiser on Friday 4 September – what an amazing night. We might make this an annual event!
Long Table Lunch & Airing of the Quilts Wednesday 23 September – magic day as usual. Many thanks to everyone who exhibited their beautiful quilts, cooked, donated raffle prizes, bought raffle tickets and made this amazing event happen. Thanks as always to Penny & Jim for welcoming us to their beautiful home & wonderful garden.
So please get involved in Term 4, as our Centre really needs your support – encourage your friends to join, make a donation through Friends of BSCC, attend our fundraisers (and make sure you bring your friends) and most importantly, enrol in lots of courses!

Lots of new classes this term! As our Mah Jong classes for Beginners & On Going are really popular (thanks Tina & Helen), we thought we’d offer you a chance to learn Canasta 5. Thanks, Tina, for offering this. We also have Christmas Gift Making with Heidi, German Culture Club with Heidi, Blush & Blue Watercolours with Anastasia, and Women’s Small Group Fitness with Leanne – a very early fitness class (at 6.15am) for those who have to work! Check them all out and enrol early!
Having a legal will and knowing what to do & what not to do is so important. We have organised a Q & A Info session with a local legal team to help you out.
A date for the diary….
The Mt Lawley Society is planning a talk at our Centre on Saturday 14 November. Full details coming soon. It will feature the history of our beautiful house and then also give you lots of pointers on how to research the history of your own house if you live in the heritage areas of Mount Lawley, Inglewood or Menora.
The office reopens on Tuesday 13 October, but if you need to contact us before then, please do so through the website.
