Term 3, 2026

Welcome to Term 3!

This term, our blog is all about hellos, goodbyes and heartfelt thank yous as we celebrate the many wonderful people who make our Centre the warm and welcoming community it is.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Centre Manager Rifah.

Beaufort Bear has been busy helping Lindsay introduce Rifah to all aspects of work at our lovely centre. Make sure you drop in and say hello.

And finally, while Lindsay officially finished her role on 30 June, you'll still see her around the Centre for a little while as she completes the handover.

Lindsay has been a much-loved and valued member of our Centre family, serving as Office Manager for the past 30 years. Throughout that time, she has generously given countless volunteer hours well beyond her paid role, always with dedication, kindness and an unwavering commitment to our community. Her contribution has been truly remarkable, and she will be greatly missed.

To celebrate Lindsay's incredible years of service and wish her a happy retirement, we invite everyone to join us for her Retirement Party on Thursday 30 July at 11.00 am at the Centre. Please add your name to the sign-up sheet on the noticeboard, bring a plate of food to share, and BYO alcohol if you'd like. We hope you can join us as we thank Lindsay for everything she has given to our Centre and wish her every happiness in this exciting new chapter.

It certainly seems to be the term for farewells!

After 20 wonderful years of inspiring and encouraging our budding artists, our much-loved watercolour teacher, Sue Hibbert, has decided to step back from teaching to spend more time with her husband and focus on her own artistic journey.

We are incredibly grateful for Sue's dedication, patience and generosity in sharing her remarkable talent over the past two decades. Her passion for art and her encouragement of students at every stage have left a lasting mark on our Centre and on the many people she has taught.

Thank you, Sue, for everything you have given so generously over the years. We wish you every happiness as you embrace this exciting new chapter, and we hope you'll still pop in to say hello from time to time. You will be greatly missed.

Many thanks to Anastasia for stepping in to teach our Monday morning Watercolour class. Welcome to our Centre.

Many thanks to all who attended our Soup Luncheon on Wednesday 1st July to raise much needed funds for our Centre. You are all very generous supporters of our Centre.

Many of our wider community did fancy a game of Mah Jong in Term 2!

We had 14 people enrol to learn this ever-popular game with our volunteer teacher Tina. Many thanks Tina for your efforts, and for offering a Beginners class in Term 3. Those who have completed the Beginners classes with Tina have decided to keep meeting in Term 3 & have organised Mah Jong Come & Play (facilitated by Helen – thank you!). This class is open to anyone with basic (or better) skills. Check course listing for full details.

As usual, we have heaps of classes on offer for you. Check them all out and enrol early!

The office reopens Tuesday 21 July, but if you need to contact us before then, please do so through the website.
